Please note that although this position is currently based in Stellenbosch, the Company's office will relocate to Somerset West in the new year.
Purpose of the role:As junior graphic designer, you will fulfill the role of in-house designer, whose main focus is the visual development of marketing, branding, social media content and digital content as required.
To be successful as a junior graphic designer, you should have original ideas and have an eye for detail. Ultimately, a successful Junior graphic designer should be able to create imaginative designs, be open to learning more and create impressive designs that promote the Company’s vision.
You will support the brand manager and team:
- To design and execute "finishing and repro" (completion of projects, promotional material, video’s, social media visuals, templates and PowerPoints etc.) as required
- With all projects that support the various brand strategies of the Group's different legal entities
- To execute designs according to design briefs
- By working independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with the team, to meet deadlines and to manage workload appropriately
- With appropriate administrative tasks
Experience:- 1 - 3 years experience within a similar role
Qualification:- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
Skills:- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles
- Fully literate in latest design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
- Understand digital and social media platforms (Google Analytics, basics Wordpress, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Youtube, MailChimp, Canva)
- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects is an advantage
- Must be able to create short videos and social media visual content
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work under pressure
- Effective problem solver
- Must be self-motivated and an initiator
- Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Be creative and have conceptual skills
- Must have an eye for detail
