R&A Strategic Communications is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Johannesburg-based team of communications professionals. We are looking for someone who has a passion and flair for writing, and who believes in the value of communication. You need to be energetic, enthusiastic and a team player.
Our ideal candidate must:
Communicate effectively and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Build, maintain and nurture effective client relationships.
Think strategically about our clients’ communication needs and the challenges on which they are based.
Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses to deliver internal and external communication activities that align with their overarching business strategies.
Create and deliver high-quality communication material that demonstrates excellent writing skills and clarity of message, and engages with audiences.
Understand how to engage with South African business and other media to create and generate media coverage for our clients.
Absorb and distil large amounts of information into key learnings/arising issues for clients. Includes monitoring and evaluating media coverage.
Relate well to and enjoy engaging with people.
Work under pressure, deal with stressful/high-stake situations and respond diplomatically to sensitive areas.
Continuously grow and develop new skills.
Operate autonomously but still work within a team.
Key Requirements:
Five years or more of working experience in communications or similar
Degree in business science, journalism, media studies, communication, or similar. Honours advantageous, not mandatory
