R&A Strategic Communications is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our Johannesburg-based team as our Webmaster. As our Webmaster, you will maintain existing client websites and ensure all support requests are managed in a timely manner. Candidates will be expected to communicate directly with clients and colleagues with a high level of proficiency and professionalism. Strong skills in task prioritisation, communication of deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast- paced environment are a must.
Key responsibilities:
Maintain website content
Ensure sites are in optimal working order
Respond to support requests via phone and email
Coordinate with designers, developers, and copywriters for more involved website changes
Perform cross-browser and device testing
Analyse site layouts and structures, HTML coding, navigation systems, etc. with a view to improving usability and search engine rankings while maintaining a high standard of visual design and brand consistency
Produce website performance reports using Google Analytics, Search Console and other SEO tools
Provide time estimates for project deliverables and adhere to deadlines
Key requirements:
3-year national qualification in computer science, information systems, or related field
5 years of experience coding JavaScript, HTML, CSS based webpages using responsive frameworks
An understanding of good web standards and semantic structure
Ability to use WordPress and Joomla
Basic understanding of SEO/OnlineMarketing
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat)
Ability to work in a hybrid office/ home environment
