Responsibilities and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

GGA’s Marketing Manager’s responsibilities will revolve around developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans for the entire organisation (or lines of business and brands within the organisation) to attract potential customers and retain existing ones, as well as coordinating and administering marketing campaigns across all social media platforms.

Objectives of the role:
  • Establish positioning, support audience development through identification of GGA’s target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments in relation to GGA’s programmes.
  • Lead the execution of marketing programmes from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Team, analyse customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
  • Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies: Design and execute comprehensive social media strategies that align with GGA's goals and objectives. This includes creating engaging content calendars, identifying key platforms, and crafting targeted campaigns to maximise reach and engagement.
  • Content creation and curation: Create compelling and relevant content for GGA's social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. Curate existing content and adapt it for different platforms, ensuring consistency in messaging and tone.
  • Lead generation and donor attraction: Utilise social media platforms to generate leads and attract potential funders who are interested in supporting GGA's mission. Develop strategies to effectively communicate the impact of our work and engage with potential donors through compelling storytelling and relevant content.
  • Increase online visibility: Implement techniques to improve GGA's visibility on social media platforms, including optimising profiles, utilising relevant hashtags, and engaging with industry influencers, partners, and stakeholders. Monitor and analyse social media trends to identify opportunities for increased visibility.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop creative briefs and guide creative direction to meet objectives for all advertising and public-facing communications, including print, digital, and audio-visual.
  • Ensure the alignment of communications and messaging across all channels.
  • Manage content and updates for customer and internal touch points and establish budgets for each campaign/project.
  • Support and assist with all events, conferences, dialogues, round-table seminars, etc.
  • Provide sales support by ensuring the provision of relevant collateral for all initiatives, presentations, and proposals to increase customer conversion and generate qualified leads.
  • Work alongside the Audience Lead to gather market insights and inform outreach strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of all campaigns and initiatives with tracking and analysis and optimise accordingly.
  • Social media analytics and reporting: Monitor social media analytics and generate regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media strategies. Use data-driven insights to optimise content, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Support the chief commercial and marketing officer, as well as Heads of Departments, and the Operations Manager on all related
  • activities.
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Proven experience: Minimum of three years’ experience in social media management, preferably in the non-profit or advocacy sector.
  • Proven success in developing marketing plans and campaigns.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to multi-task, and decision-making skills.
  • Metrics-driven marketing mind with an eye for creativity.
  • Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, business, or related field
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of issues related to governance, transparency, and accountability in Africa. A commitment to GGA's mission and values.
  • Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategies
