Toni Elephant Media is a content and communications strategy agency working with a diverse range of clients across various industries. We deliver impactful public relations campaigns to enable our clients to connect with their audiences and achieve their strategic business objectives.
We have a strong team of writers and media enthusiasts and are looking for an experienced and passionate PR account manager to join our team.
This role requires a high level of professionalism, strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage a portfolio of client accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for all communications.
Plan, develop and drive the implementation of PR strategies and campaigns to meet clients’ objectives.
Conduct thorough research to gain insight into clients’ industries, target audiences, etc, and apply this knowledge to PR campaigns.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing strategic counsel and guidance.
Coordinate and manage media relations, including drafting press releases, preparation of articles and arranging media interviews – working together with the media relations team.
Manage the team and provide guidance on deliverables and implementation of PR strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams, such as creative and digital departments, to ensure the seamless execution of integrated PR campaigns.
Explore and recommend new cost-effective/innovative methods to deliver campaigns and work to clients.
Manage day-to-day activities relating to client accounts.
Ensure the delivery of exceptional work to clients.
Manage briefs with teams to ensure timely delivery.
Routinely review client account with management to assess business potential and profitability of account relationships.
Quality Control.
Work with all team members to improve efficiencies and delivery on all accounts.
Manage the performance of your team to continuously achieve the targets set for clients.
Allocate resources within your team to maximise skill sets and client coverage.
Coach and mentor interns and other team members.
Create clear goals for your team and yourself in line with our client’s strategic business objectives.
Stay updated on industry trends and news, and proactively identify opportunities for clients to engage with relevant media outlets and industry influencers.
Assist in new business development efforts, including participating in client pitches and preparation of proposals.
Track client coverage and report back to clients highlighting metrics and outcomes.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field.
A minimum of at least seven years’ work experience in a PR or related role. Agency experience is essential.
Strong knowledge of PR strategies, media relations and industry best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and adapt communication styles to different audiences.
Solid understanding of integrated public relations.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritise and meet deadlines.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, media, and team members.
Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative PR ideas and approaches.
Proficiency in PR tools, i.e. media monitoring platforms and press release distribution systems.
Experience in managing crisis communications.
Strong command of the English language.
Proficiency in Great Microsoft, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Canva programmes.
